RICH KENDALL, President and CEO
Rich Kendall joined Sovernet Communications as President and CEO in February of 2006. He brings over 17 years of telecom experience in positions of successful leadership. Prior to joining Sovernet, Rich was the Executive Vice President of Sales for Lightship Telecom, a New Hampshire based competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC), where he led 190% revenue growth from 2002 until the sale of the company in 2005. Previously, Rich spent 10 years at a Massachusetts-based CLEC, Network Plus, most recently serving as the Senior Vice President of Sales where he was integral to the successful IPO and secondary public offerings of the company which helped raise over $300 million dollars. Under Rich’s leadership, the sales team expanded to a successful 500-person, 18-city organization. Additionally, Rich has also held positions at MCI and Fleet Bank. He has a BA in History and Government & Legal Studies from Bowdoin College.   

MICHAEL SHUIPIS, Director of Finance
Michael joined Sovernet in March 2014. Following a career in public accounting, he has over twenty years of financial and operations management experience with internet and fiber optic telecommunications companies. Michael has led the development of strategic plans and implemented financial and operational systems in a number of companies. Most recently he has been the Director of Finance for ION, a subsidiary of Sovernet in New York state, a position he still holds. Michael is a CPA and has a BBA in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.

PETER STOLLEY, Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Peter has served in sales and marketing since joining Sovernet Communications in October of 1997. He has been vice president of the department since 2002. Peter’s responsibilities include product development, management of marketing for both Internet and telephone communications services, management of customer service, and all channels of both residential and business sales and provisioning. Peter was prominent in the development of new products and rate plans 
when Sovernet deployed voice and data services in Keene and Lebanon, New Hampshire, enabling statewide service.

BRANDON PEYTON, Director of Operations
Brandon has served as Director of Operations since March 2003. Prior to 2003, Brandon held senior management positions with MCI WorldCom and UUNET. Through more than 15 years working in the United States, Australia, and across the Asia Pacific region, Brandon has held senior management positions in Network Operations, Service Delivery/Provisioning, Planning, Corporate IT&T, Carrier Management, and Vendor Relations. In these roles he has developed strong teams locally and regionally, to work with him in delivering significant structural change to the organizations, resulting in measurable financial improvements, service quality availability, and realization of company objectives.Brandon holds a degree in Computer Science. 

LAWRENCE LACKEY, Director of Regulatory Affairs
At Sovernet, Lawrence is responsible for assuring Sovernetís compliance with state and federal regulations, interaction with and advocacy before regulatory commissions, and managing Sovernetís human resources functions. Prior to joining Sovernet, Mr. Lackey served for three years as a hearing officer at the Vermont Public Service Board and for thirteen years at the Vermont Department of Public Service, including as Director for Telecommunications. He also advised a number of clients, including the Vermont legislature, on financial, technical, regulatory and public policy issues relating to telecommunications and broadband services. Lawrence holds a bachelorís degree in Economics from Bates College in Maine and a Masterís degree from the University of Vermont.

JAY BELLOWS, Director of Sales
Jay manages the day-to-day operation of Sovernet’s business sales force across our northern New England markets as well as serving as the facility Director of the company’s office in Winooski, VT. He brings over 11 years of successful sales experience and leadership, within the technology field, to Sovernet. Previously, Jay led the sales force in Northern New England for a prominent Information Technology, systems integration company where he established a new office and grew the territory. Jay also spent several years doing sales with the SymQuest Group, a local leader in Networking and connectivity in Vermont and NH. He has a BA in history from Johnson State College.
