.NET Programmer


The .NET Programmer's principal duties and reponsibilities will include:

  • Plans, researches, obtains, and analyzes requirements, carries out, and reports on progress for various internal IT projects
  • Reports to Management on the status of work/projects, problem areas
  • Software Developer candidates will not only be heavy developers but will have a strong knowledge of business processes and supporting complex, large-scale business applications
  • Confer throughout the development cycle with clients and users to determine programming and database requirements
  • Analyze, develop, and document user requirements
  • Estimate and prioritize programming requests, creating plans to meet timelines, and soliciting input from supervisor as necessary
  • Design routine to complex programs and database applications to meet user specifications
  • Design input screens for data entry
  • Modify existing programs and database applications
  • Implement new programs and database applications
  • Test and debug new and modified programs and database applications
  • Support and document existing applications and Web-based as well as newly developed applications
  • Create ad-hoc or routine custom user reports, manually if need be
  • Perform quality control procedures on programs and applications
  • Perform hardware/software support responsibilities such as training users, installing and configuring hardware/software and associated equipment, keeping records of hardware/software inventory, coordinating requests for repairs and maintenance, and recommending equipment modifications or additions as necessary
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of department/project/program in order to anticipate and accommodate programming needs
  • Maintain current knowledge of and comply with standards and policies regarding the use of hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot internal user problems
  • Integrate data and workflows among multiple complex business systems
  • Manage development projects according to budgets, schedules and objective
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to customer satisfaction
  • Works collaboratively and has the ability to establish positive working relationships with technical staff, customers and others involved in database management
  • Must be self-motivating and able to work well with a diverse group of people
  • Can see the big picture, but can also effectively manage details
  • Prioritizes multiple tasks effectively
  • Exhibits patience and flexibility in relationships with co-workers


  • Bachelors degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, preferred or equivalent experience (5 years in the field)
  • Requires 2-4 years database and application software implementation, administration, security, design, and tuning
  • .NET, MSSQL, MYSQL, CSS , XML, SOAP, PHP, IIS, and website development experience a MUST
  • Experience with Windows Server environments
  • Experience with SharePoint preferred
  • Experience with Cisco Call Manager Call Center scripting preferred
  • Experience with GIS/GE Smallworld preferred
  • Application software implementation experience
  • Strong systems administration experience
  • Strong oral presentation and written communications skill
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • Skilled in customer interfacing skills
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle critical issues effectively
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to generate reports and statistical documentation
  • Project Management Experience
