Residential DSL accounts are G.Lite/ADSL-based. Both have speeds up to 2000k downstream and 256k upstream. Because DSL is distance-sensitive, whether or not your phone line can carry the service, and the actual speeds you get, depend on your distance from the nearest telephone company Central Office housing our equipment. It takes only a few moments to determine whether your line can support this access option.

PHSA–B (undiscounted: $37.44) and PHSA–Plus (undiscounted: $50) are designed specifically for the residential user who wants a full-time connection at speeds faster than currently available via a 56k modem.

• These accounts are intended for use as a client-only service; network services (e.g.: running a server), are not supported, nor are the circuits monitored.
• If you want to run a server, have your circuit monitored 24/7, or need higher bandwidth, one of our many Business-class DSL accounts will meet your needs.
• Internet sharing for multiple computers on a small LAN via a shared PHSA connection can be done, but is not something we provide technical support for. We will be happy to assist you in getting one computer online—for additional Internet sharing you may wish to retain a network professional.

PHSA–class accounts are “full-time” connections with 1 dynamic IP address (note: only PHSA–Plus includes the separate 1-login Dialup access and National Roaming features. PHSA–Basic can add them for an additional monthly fee). Click here to view list of features.

PHSA Modems
Modems ship with AC-adapter (if used); RJ-11 phone cord; USB &/or RJ-45 Ethernet cable; phone-line filters; and instructions. Price: $92 plus tax. Feel free to contact us with any questions. You are welcome to select your own equipment from your own source, but we can not guarantee compatibility. We will help as we can, but will not fully support equipment other than that which we’ve tested and verified as compatible with our system.

Security—Because these account connections are “always on” and, therefore, are vulnerable to privacy intrusions, we encourage the disabling of file-sharing, peering, or remote-user access to your machine as a security precaution. The personal firewall software and/or hardware options available might well be worth looking into.

While we do not endorse any specific security/firewall products, some of the more commonly available vendors are listed here.
