• We are a facilities-based data and telecommunications provider, with a broad network providing reliable Internet and local & long distance telephone services to our customers.
  
  
• Our state-of-the-art Class4/Class5 telephone switch is connected directly to major national telecommunications carriers.
  
  
• Carrier-class hardware is used throughout our network from such well-respected manufacturers as Cisco, Siemens, AFC, Copper Mountain, and others.
  
  
• All customers' connection needs are considered to be mission critical. As a result we build into our data network operation a large cushion between bandwidth in-use and backbone bandwidth available.
  
  
• From our Network Operations Centers, our professionally-trained staff continually monitor our voice network, co-location facilities, data network, server colocation facilities, and business customers’ dedicated circuits on a 24/7 basis. Our goal is to ensure healthy, robust networks providing our customers with the highest caliber performance possible.
  
  
• Maintenance is scheduled regularly to ensure timely attention to any potential issues, typically during the hours of least traffic (3-5 AM) in order to minimize any noticeable effects during the work window.
  
  
• Our multi-homed transit network has redundant, geographically diverse OC-3 paths to the Internet, with direct peering in several major US cities.
  
  
• Our high-speed instate backbone interconnects our major PoPs (Points of Presence) using diverse paths at speeds up to OC-48.
  
  
• To ensure that efficient, loop-free routes are established, we utilize Border Gateway Protocol (bgp), an Internet protocol that enables groups of routers (“autonomous systems”) to share routing information and provide routing switchover when required.
  
  
• All servers are backed-up daily.
  
  
• Full UPS backup battery power is on standby at all POPs and Operation Centers. Generators are also on full standby, ready at a moment’s notice, to keep our system up and smoothly running.
  
  
• Sovernet technical staff is strategically located throughout the state in order to provide prompt and reliable installation and repair.
  
  
• Support is available via email, a toll-free phone line, and callbacks from the Tech Support Team. Dedicated Business Accounts have 24/7 access, via a special extension, to our Network Monitors.

Paying Our Dues...
One thing that we’ve always honored has been our commitment to supporting the community which supports us. We sponsor local and statewide groups in various ways. On the civic front we have joined the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, as well as numerous local Chambers of Commerce throughout our service area. We are also a member of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility.

We are proud to be an underwriter and supporter of Vermont Public Radio. We belong to a number of professional organizations, among which are: the Vermont Telecommunications Application Center, The US Internet Industry Association, The Internet Service Providers' Consortium.

On a local level, we help to sponsor numerous art & music events, nonprofit fundraising events, local-access television, several PC and Mac Computer User Groups, and many nonprofit/educational organizations—all help to strengthen the community and create a more dynamic and sustainable environment for all of us.

Location, location, location...
In Bellows Falls, we're in the big yellow building at the southern junction of Main Street (Rockingham Street) and Canal Street. The street address is 5 Rockingham Street. We're about 10 minutes from Exit 5 off I-91 and 5 minutes from Exit 6. From either exit, follow the signs to Bellows Falls on Route 5.

Please stop in and say hello if you're in the area—we're not a real exciting place to visit, and we don't have yummy tours like B&J, but we love to meet our customers and put a face to a name!
